VesselIQ Clinical Applications
Carotid Artery Assessment
Evaluate carotid stenosis and plaque characteristics for stroke risk assessment.
Coronary CT Angiography
Non-invasive assessment of coronary artery disease and stenosis quantification.
Peripheral Vascular Disease
Comprehensive evaluation of lower extremity arterial disease and runoff vessels.
Aortic Aneurysm
Precise measurements for aneurysm monitoring and surgical planning.
Renal Artery Stenosis
Detailed assessment of renal arteries for hypertension workup.
Surgical Planning
Pre-operative vascular mapping and intervention planning.
Autobone Xpress: Advanced Skeletal Imaging
Autobone Xpress is an intelligent bone removal and visualization tool that automatically separates osseous structures from CT angiography studies, providing clear views of vascular anatomy without bone interference.
This technology is invaluable for neurovascular imaging, allowing detailed visualization of intracranial vessels, aneurysms, and vascular malformations by eliminating bone artifacts that can obscure critical diagnostic information.
Key Features
- Automated Bone Removal: Intelligent segmentation separates bone from vessels
- Multi-Slab Processing: Optimal bone subtraction across multiple anatomical regions
- Quality Assurance: Automatic verification of bone removal accuracy
- 3D Skull Imaging: High-quality skeletal reconstructions when needed
- Fast Processing: Rapid automated analysis for quick results
- Flexible Visualization: Toggle between bone-removed and original images

High-quality skeletal imaging for maxillofacial and neurosurgical planning.
What to Expect During Your CT Angiography
Arrival & Preparation
Arrive 15 minutes early. Fasting for 4 hours is required. An IV line will be placed for contrast injection.
Contrast Administration
Iodinated contrast is injected through the IV during the scan to highlight blood vessels.
The Scan
Lie still on the CT table for 5-20 minutes depending on the area being examined. You may need to hold your breath briefly.
Advanced Processing
VesselIQ and Autobone software automatically analyze your scan, creating detailed 3D reconstructions reviewed by our radiologists.
Advantages of Advanced Vascular & Skeletal Imaging
Comprehensive Vascular Assessment
VesselIQ provides automated analysis with precise stenosis measurements, reducing interpretation time and improving diagnostic accuracy.
Superior Visualization
Autobone technology eliminates bone artifacts, providing unobstructed views of vascular anatomy critical for diagnosis and surgical planning.
Non-Invasive Alternative
CT angiography with advanced processing offers a safe, non-invasive alternative to conventional catheter angiography for many indications.
How to Prepare for Your CT Angiography
Before Your Appointment
- Fast for 4 hours before your appointment
- Continue medications unless advised otherwise
- Inform staff of kidney problems or diabetes
- Mention any allergies, especially to contrast
- Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing
What to Bring
- Referral from your doctor
- Medicare card and insurance cards
- List of current medications
- Previous vascular imaging (if available)
- Recent kidney function tests (if applicable)
Important Considerations
Contrast Dye: IV contrast is required for vascular imaging. Please inform staff if you have kidney disease, are on dialysis, or have had previous reactions to contrast.
Pregnancy: Notify us if you are or might be pregnant. CT scans are generally avoided during pregnancy.
